TMNT: A Day with Ember (Request)

It was a bright sunny day at April and Donatello’s farmhouse. They had to leave to go somewhere and needed a babysitter for their 6-year-old daughter Magdalene, but pretty much everyone was busy. Then Donnie thought of someone.

“What about Ember?” Donnie asked.

“Oh!” April agreed. “We haven’t seen her since she and Mikey came back from their honeymoon last week.”

“I have her number” Donnie said. “I’ll call her up.”

Not too long later, Ember arrived through the tunnel that the boys made.

“Ember!” Donnie and April exclaimed.

“Hey, guys!” Ember greeted as they came up to hug her.

“How was your honeymoon?” April asked.

“Completely wonderful” Ember replied.

“And has Mikey been staying out of trouble?” Donnie asked.

“Yes” Ember replied.

“I hope this isn’t too short notice” April said.

“Not at all” Ember replied. “I’ve been looking forward to seeing Maggie for a while anyway.”

“We didn’t tell her that you were coming” Donnie said. “We wanted her to be surprised.”

“Fine by me” Ember said.

“Alright, you know what to do” April said. “We’ll be gone till about 9 tonight.”

“Awesome!” Ember replied. “I’ll see you guys then.”

“See you later” Donnie said.

They all waved as Donnie and April headed out the door.

Ember headed upstairs and peeked through Maggie’s door to find her coloring. She smiled and opened the door a bit.

“Guess who?” Ember said.

Maggie turned and smiled when she saw Ember.

“Auntie Ember!” Maggie exclaimed. She ran up to Ember and gave her a huge hug.

“How are you, sweetie?” Ember asked.

“I’m good” Maggie replied. “I missed you a whole lot while you were gone. Where were you?”

“I was with your Uncle Mikey on our honeymoon” Ember replied.

“You wanna color with me?” Maggie asked.

“Of course I do” Ember replied.

They sat and colored for a while. Maggie did a picture of herself and Ember together holding hands and Ember tried to draw a picture of Maggie. She wasn’t very good at drawing.

After a bit, they went outside to play. They were chasing each other around and having fun. At one point, Maggie tackled Ember and they both laughed.

“Man, I’ve missed playing with you, Maggie” Ember said as she gasped for breath.

“Me, too” Maggie replied.

At that instant, both of their stomachs growled and they laughed.

“I guess it’s supper time” Ember said. “Would you like one of my famous grilled cheese sandwiches?”

“Yes!” Maggie said as she jumped up.

“Alright, let’s go then” Ember replied.

They went to the kitchen and Ember made two grilled cheese sandwiches with ham. They both sat and talked about Maggie’s training with Splinter and Ember’s brothers-in-law. Ember offered to train Maggie a bit and Maggie said yes excitedly.

As Ember and Maggie were training, April and Donnie came through the door.

“We’re home” Donnie called out.

“Mommy, Daddy!” Maggie called out. She ran up to them and hugged them.

“Did you have a good time with Ember?” April asked.

“Today was awesome!” Maggie replied. “We colored, played outside, ate her famous grilled cheese sandwiches, and she trained with me.”

“Well, sounds like you had fun” Donnie said. “But now it’s time to go to bed.”

“Aww” Maggie replied. “Alright, Daddy. Goodnight, Auntie Ember!”

“Goodnight, sweet pea” Ember said as Maggie hugged her.

Maggie then ran upstairs after she hugged April. Donnie went up to tuck her in.

“Thanks for doing this, Ember” April said.

“My pleasure” Ember replied. “I miss spending time with her.”

“You know, if you want to come over, you can” April said.

“I know. It’ll be easy thanks to the tunnel that the boys put in. I am still living in the lair after all.”

“Well, I hope you visit soon” April said. “Maggie always looks forward to seeing you.”

“And I look forward to seeing her” Ember replied. “Now, I better get going. I told Mikey I would be back by ten and I don’t wanna keep him waiting.”

“I understand” April replied. They hugged each other. “I’ll tell Donnie you said ‘bye.’”

“Alright. Goodnight” Ember said.

“Goodnight” April said.

With that, Ember went downstairs and left through the tunnel. She did enjoy the time she spent with Maggie. They had a special bond that could never be broken.
